Description
Carrie Maynard used to be a confident, energetic, youthful woman. One day, her only son Charlie introduces her to his friend Fred: quiet, but with such clear blue eyes.
It seems to throw her for no apparent reason. He’s just an ordinary boy, not even very interesting. But she loses sleep, and can’t explain it. Suddenly, Carrie is feeling old. Fred also seems to be drawn to her: he pays her compliments, sometimes a little clumsily, which she invariably takes the wrong way. Is he having her on, or is there something more?
Carrie’s a respectable woman approaching middle age, and she believes there’s a certain behavior she must adhere to. But the voices inside her —one seeking social acceptability, the other adventure and love—are not content, and she will soon have to make decisions that will shape her whole future, and help find her true self.
